In 2018, donations were made through the Turner Foundation’s Turner Community Youth Development Initiative (TCYDI) to the Mandala Summer Day Camp in Des Moines, NM for the 2018 camp programs, which offers outdoor activities like ropes course, hiking and mountain biking.
Through the TCYDI program grant, Mandala Summer Day Camp, which hosted 58 campers last summer, was able to purchase eight mountain bikes and safety helmets for its campers.
The town of Des Moines is located within an hour of Vermejo Park Ranch, which is the largest Turner property at 585,000 acres.
