The Turner Community Youth Development Initiative (TCYDI) – a program implemented through the Turner Foundation – awarded funds to the Field Institute in Taos, NM, which were used to support and expanded the organization’s nature-based, outdoor education programming. The Field Institute was able to extend its reach to more schools and community programs, improve and expand its summer camp offerings and build stronger partnerships with other nonprofits.
The Field Institute reports that by promoting its Mountain Camps and through its expanded community outreach programs, the organization is reaching more diverse populations each year and has also increased its year-round programming offerings.
